The My Home Run series follows six paddlers from the Northeast to their favorite local runs.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>Rock Run: <\/strong>It\u2019s exclusive. It\u2019s challenging. And to run it, the stars have to align. To <a href=\"https:\/\/community.nrs.com\/duct-tape\/author\/scottmartin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scott Martin<\/a>, it\u2019s the perfect river.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  width=\"970\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/o855g_M0WJ0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cOn a very personal level, coming off expeditions, there&#8217;s a little bit of like a depression time&#8230; no one can really relate to that experience of what you&#8217;ve gone through besides for the people with you. &#8230; But the great thing about coming off an expedition and coming back to your local creek is that it&#8217;s comforting. It&#8217;s kind of like going home and eating mac and cheese.\u201d &#8211; Scott<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>New York paddler, Bill Frazer can\u2019t imagine a time in his life when he won\u2019t want to go kayaking. But, it turns out, as you grow up, have kids and, y\u2019know, mature, \u2018being scared\u2019 isn\u2019t what kayaking is all about, sometimes you just want to get in your boat. When Bill just needs to get in his boat, he heads to <strong>the Boquet.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  width=\"970\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/IrUGqLu_KL0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI remember being the younger guy hanging out with older guys. Now, I\u2019m like the old guy hanging out with the younger guys boating, which is funny. \u2026I\u2019m definitely wiser about my decisions in kayaking. \u2026If I\u2019m slightly like, \u2018Ahh, I\u2019m not sure about that,\u2019 then I won\u2019t do it. But that\u2019s what\u2019s great about the Boquet because you can just go there. I know it so well that maybe that\u2019s why I paddle it because I\u2019m comfortable.\u201d &#8211; Bill<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/community.nrs.com\/duct-tape\/author\/elaine\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Elaine Campbell<\/a> became an expert on the <strong>Deerfield<\/strong>. When she learned to squirt boat she went back to the Deerfield. And even though she\u2019s paddled different sections, from the Dryway to Fife Brook, thousands of times, it never gets old.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\"  width=\"970\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DjD7PS2kbCU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cBefore kayaking\u2026my weekends were spent going out drinking, going to nightclubs and then I learned how to kayak and it was like boom, no more clubbin\u2019. I mean, there was partying but it was outside around a campfire.
