When we started NRS Films <\/a>a few years back, our goal was to bring high-quality short films to the paddling world that not only showcased amazing feats and spectacular scenery, but that told meaningful stories that could make us think, laugh, gasp and aspire. In the process of creating and sharing our Of Souls + Water<\/a> series, Cascada<\/a>\u00a0and other NRS films, we discovered a community of adventurers and creatives dedicated to revealing the natural world in all its splendor while inspiring viewers to go outside and experience it\u2014and hopefully to help preserve it for future generations to appreciate. Each April, this community gathers at the 5Point Film Festival<\/a> in Carbondale, Colorado to share their work, tell their stories and hatch new plans while delighting and informing an impassioned audience.<\/p>\n

At this year\u2019s festival, we\u2019ll be premiering two new NRS films. “Nobody\u2019s River,” directed by Skip Armstrong<\/a>, tells the story of four women<\/a> attempting to paddle 5,000 km from Mongolia through Eastern Russia on the Amur River. “Dream,” also by Skip Armstrong, is a visual feast of high-concept wizardry, which is a fancy way of saying \u201crad.\u201d Not unlike Skip\u2019s last collaboration with Ben, “The Shapeshifter,” which wowed audiences at last year\u2019s festival.<\/p>\n
