In this new video from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanrivers.org\">American Rivers<\/a>, produced by filmmaker Skip Armstrong, we follow eight-year-old Parker as he races and splashes along some of the Pacific Northwest\u2019s most spectacular rivers.<\/p>\n<p>Along the way he counts down what makes these rivers so special, from puddles and newts and forts to pristine water, rain, and leaf monsters.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"970\" height=\"546\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qPmCo0riO5g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Do you recognize the old dam site (#7)? That\u2019s where Glines Canyon Dam stood for nearly 100 years, blocking the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanrivers.org\/newsroom\/press-releases\/elwha-rivers-health-rebounding\/\">Elwha River<\/a> and its salmon runs. Thanks to the work of American Rivers, American Whitewater, the lower Elwha Klallam Tribe, and others, the river\u2019s outdated dams are gone and the Elwha now runs free, mountains to sea.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re inspired by the video, get involved with American Rivers\u2014you can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.americanrivers.org\/take-action\/\">take action<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/secure.americanrivers.org\/page\/contribute\/make-a-gift?source=member\">become a member<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Another way to show rivers some love is to introduce a child to the magic of rivers and streams.\u00a0 Take a lesson from Parker\u2014get out and have fun.
