Ginni Callahan
After discovering that an open canoe is not appropriate for the Pacific surf, Ginni Calahan evolved to board surfing (badly), and finally to sea kayaking. She migrates to Mexico in the winter where to guide and teach. Otherwise, home is Puget Island, Washington, in the middle of the mighty Columbia River, about 45 river miles from the Pacific Ocean. Efforts to hold down real jobs never lasted a year, but guiding, coaching, and running two kayak companies, a farm, and a kayak symposium have held her attention, in various combinations, for 15+ years.
