How do you prepare for the first descent of a free-flowing Klamath River? Paddle as much as possible!

This spring, Ríos to Rivers joined forces with World Class Academy to form the second Paddle Tribal Waters Academy—A fully accredited private high school with a curriculum designed especially for the Indigenous youth involved with Paddle Tribal Waters.

In addition to all the usual subjects—English, math, science—Paddle Tribal Waters Academy traveled to California, the Pacific Northwest and Chile, building community, engaging in cultural exchange and, of course, honing their kayak skills on some of the world’s most iconic watersheds.
