Shaina Maytum is a writer, educator, and adventurer living on Colorado’s Front Range. She learned to row in a 1980s-era Avon Pro, and although she has since graduated to a modern boat with a self-bailing floor, she still has a serious soft spot for all things rafting vintage. She loves exploring the rivers of the West but never forgets these special places need protection. Shaina strives - through writing and advocacy - to make sure future generations of humans (and fish) will also be able to sleep under starry skies while the river rushes by.
